Version 4d launches

You may notice that things are looking a little different around here - the site has a new colour scheme, we've ditched the black and gone for a nice white layout to make it match with the rest of our corporate sites and because it's a bit easier to read.

We've also added some new information, a fresh new logo and generally done some updating to the site.

Sarah Jane goes live

To help spread the load of of traffic across the network we have added a new server to the network, nicknamed Sarah Jane.

We've been working on configuring it for the past week now and finally transfered the first site over yesterday - Quiz Baby is the first site to be moved across and is now up and running on the new server.

Inca power outage

Due to a fault discovered with the building, we are having to turn the power off for several hours starting at 13:00 BST today. During this time Inca will be offline.

Inca datacenter move

Inca will be down for scheduled downtime later today as we move her to a different datacenter. We expect the move to start at around 16:00 and last approximately 2-3 hours.

We will also be completing some maintenance before it goes offline to bring everything up to date and ensure everything is running. This should not affect any services however.

Email issues update

This is just a quick update to explain what is going on with our email systems. The problems have now been resolved and we are in the process of sorting the backlog of mail.

While we have now sorted most of it, we still have a lot of mail to reply to but we hope to have it all cleared within the next few days.

Internal email problems

We are currently experiancing some issues with our internal email systems. This problem started last weekend and should be resolved some time this week.

This has resulted in us having to process many mailboxes manually which is taking some time and has as a result increased the time it is taking us to get through all the emails sent to us.

Therefore if you are waiting on a response currently please be aware that we are working on processing all the emails sent to us but it will take a little longer than usual.

Server expansion plans

Sometime within the next few weeks we are planning to expand our existing web servers so that the load can be better spread and to reduce downtime on our sites.

The move itself will affect a number of the sites in our network, including this one, however it should result in little if any downtime.

More information will be posted when plans have been finalised.

MySQL server outage

Our primary MySQL server failed in the early hours of the morning. It has now been repaired and the databases are back online.

New alerting system a success

Our new alerting system to alert us immediately of web server downtime was sucessfully put into action today.

While our main web server was being upgraded the system successfully detected the downtime and alerted our staff.

Possible outages on 13 February

Anyone who uses services on Inca server should be aware that there will be a maintenance window on Tuesday 13 February 2007 between 07:00 and 09:00.

Some service distruption may occur.

Our web servers and email servers will be unaffected.
