As of today, M World Hosting will not be taking any more customers on. We will continue to provide support and aim to provide high levels of service for our existing customers but we will be focusing on these, new hosting packages will not be available.

Big downtime, big changes

You may have noticed a lot of our sites have been online over the weekend. This is because of some security issues we ran into that were serious enough for us to pull the main web server until they had been resolved.

The aftermath of which is that we still have a lot of work to do in checking over our network to ensure everything is secure. This also leads onto the a wider problem which means we are going to have to make some changes.

Unfortunately there are a lot of people out there who are just simply bad people. This people thrive on other people's misery, hacking, destroying and spamming. They are the scum of the earth up, up there with pedophiles and people who talk at the theatre.

The Worfolk Online network as always had a philosophy of keeping our legacy sites online so people have access to as much content as possible and because the internet currently suffers from big problems in terms of content only being available for short periods. How many pages have existed for more than 18 months? Not many. This results in many dead links as pages appear and disappear while annoys and flustrates all of us.

Unfortunately we simply can't keep a network the size of ours secure and safe from from all the scum out there. So we're going to begin culling our network quite dramatically. Our important sites will be kept online of course and we hope to keep most of them online. But a lot will disappear. So enjoy them while you can.

Version 4d launches

You may notice that things are looking a little different around here - the site has a new colour scheme, we've ditched the black and gone for a nice white layout to make it match with the rest of our corporate sites and because it's a bit easier to read.

We've also added some new information, a fresh new logo and generally done some updating to the site.

Sarah Jane goes live

To help spread the load of of traffic across the network we have added a new server to the network, nicknamed Sarah Jane.

We've been working on configuring it for the past week now and finally transfered the first site over yesterday - Quiz Baby is the first site to be moved across and is now up and running on the new server.

Server expansion plans

Sometime within the next few weeks we are planning to expand our existing web servers so that the load can be better spread and to reduce downtime on our sites.

The move itself will affect a number of the sites in our network, including this one, however it should result in little if any downtime.

More information will be posted when plans have been finalised.

New alerting system a success

Our new alerting system to alert us immediately of web server downtime was sucessfully put into action today.

While our main web server was being upgraded the system successfully detected the downtime and alerted our staff.

New alerts system implemented

We have now implemented a new alerts system that will let out team now as soon as we detect that our central server has gone offline so that they can get to work on solving the issue.

Hopefully this should dramatically reduce the amount of downtime on the sever.

Blog launches

Yes, we have finally given in and added a blog to the site. It's mainly so we can post updates about network outages, planned downtime, activities going on in the network and so forth.
